African Pygmy hedgehogs…these tiny creatures have captured the hearts of people; especially rich women. They have come up as a latest handbag accessory for fashionable women including wives and girlfriends of footballers.

Hedgehogs are quite easier to maintain. This is the main reason they are being preferred over designer dogs like Chihuahuas.

They are tiny creatures usually one fourth of the size of normal hedgehogs. The best thing is they don’t cart disease and are fully domesticated. As they are the rare and unusual entrants in British pet-stores, people are queuing up to snap them up.

“There are only eight serious breeders in the country and we can’t keep up with demand”, said breeder Bonie Martin.

These hedgehogs are so tiny that you can fit them easily on the palm of your hand! In charm, they are at par with hamster guinea pigs but some added novelty and vow factors are also associated with them.

They are incredibly cute, very easy to handle and care for, cheaper to maintain…what more qualities you will search while selecting pet for your home? And there is a variety of colors before you. Chocolate brown is the most common color but you can select different colors ranging from albino to apricot.

They can be just around 7-8 inches in height, and around 2 pounds in weight. They have a short lifespan of around 4 years. It’s very convenient to keep them because when you will be at work in daytime, they will keep sleeping. They usually wake up in evening. You can enjoy with them when you come back home after work.

So, do you want small and beautiful pet? If yes,you can definitely think of hedgehogs.

They have large ears, tiny trotters and wrinkled little nose. They are really cute…

You must be thinking what I am talking about. I am talking about little teacup size pigs who are the latest must-have companions.

Many doubts are prevalent regarding cleanliness and hygiene of pigs but these tiny toys are surprisingly clean, social and intelligent also. They really enjoy the company of human beings. The charming animals, which can be just around 14 inches tall, are being frequently snaffled by celebs and animal lovers.

Many celebrities including Rupert Grint(Harry Potter actor),  Paris Hilton,  Victoria Beckhem  have snapped up these miniscule creatures to adore their homes. Mini-pigs are becoming popular for their docile nature and low maintenance. They don’t need to be taken for morning or evening walk and have very less health issues. It is quite easy to train them and once you make bonding with them, you will really enjoy their company.

“Micro-pig is a perfect pet”, said Jane Croft, a breeder at Little Pig Farm. Even for people who are prone to allergies, they make a good option. Their skin is quite similar to that of ours and it’s really difficult to get allergies from them.

Their activities can easily mesmerize you.  They will rest with you and enjoy watching TV in evening. They are fond of good food, little toys and even high Classic FM!

So, if you want to enjoy the company of this unique and fantastic creature, take it to your home. You will wonder why you haven’t think of pigs before.

    Some Myths Related To Mouse

Few days back I saw a small white mouse in one of my friend’s hand. It was his pet. It was a unique fun for me watching the activities of the small rodent. I wondered why people don’t think about mouse when comes to choose pet for home.

I shared this feeling with friend, surfed some websites also. Then I got to know that this small animal is suffered from some unfair prejudices.

If you are also planning for some pet at home and have ruled out mice because of the same reason, I request you to have a look at the following factors.

All mice are smelly: Though there is some truth to it, it’s not absolutely true. Male mice generally produce odor in their urine, it’s not that much terrible also. And female mice hardly smell. With male mice also, if you clean your cage properly, it won’t be any problem for you.

Mice are disease-home: It’s also a common thinking that mice are nasty because they bring so many diseases. Since the time of bubonic plague, this stigma is associated with this animal. It true that that time mice were the carriers of that bacterium. But some humans also carried the bacterium. In fact, bacteria can be carried by any animal. To associate it solely with this animal is absolutely wrong.

Mice don’t have understanding: People think that mice are stupid. They can’t recognize their masters like dogs or other pets. It is not true. Mice are very intelligent creatures and if groomed and cared well, they can also make a good bonding with their breeders. They can cheer you with funny tricks.

Mice are not good pets. In fact they are! This small animal is easy to keep and take care. They are so small and quiet to disturb anybody. Above all, it not at all expensive to breed them. What more can you expect of a pet!

So, think once again before selecting pet for your home.
