Dogs like humans have different behavior patterns, temperament and nature. Choosing the right dog is the most important step in getting a pet which suits your lifestyle.

Pointers below will help you choose your dream dog:

    1. Set your budget and accordingly choose for a purebred or mixed bred pup. Pure breeds are expensive and are not very easily available.

    2. Breeders are the first choice for people looking for a pet however pet adoptions can not only help you save money but your kind gesture will give a pooch the life it deserves.

    3. It is very important to decide what breed and various points like kids or elderly people in house, size of house and time you can give to the pet should be considered while choosing the right breed.

    4. Sex of the pet is also an important criterion to be kept in mind.

Keep the pointers in mind to prepare yourself to welcome the first pet dog to your abode.

Most of the advertisements on television show Labrador retrievers doing all sorts of odd things and obeying their master’s command. They have become synonymous to the most suitable animal companion for a family today. Not only Labrador retrievers are good family dogs but have proved themselves over and over again as great police and rescue dogs.

Male Labradors are about 22 to 24 inches tall and weigh around 60 to 75 pounds. Females are slightly smaller in built at about 21 to 23 inches and weigh around 55 to 70 pounds. Labradors are strong and active dogs and need a lot of exercise as obesity is the biggest concern for them and they tend to put on weight quickly.

Labradors are very loyal and intelligent. Their playful nature and gentleness towards children is the reason that makes them great family pets. They need constant companionship and attention and love to be pampered.
